Ame-Zaiku Artist (Craft Candy Artist)
Takahiro Yoshihara is an Ame-zaiku artist, and CEO and Chief Amezaiku Artist of Amezaiku Yoshihara Co., Ltd.  Ame-zaiku is a Japanese candy craft, which creates figures out of melted candy with just a pair of sewing shears. Takahiro showcases traditional Japanese craft art Ame-zaiku all over Japan, as well as the rest of the world.  He introduced several new techniques and styles into traditional Ame-zaiku technology and designs, making his products with “nostalgic” feel, but do not seem “old”.  His modernization of this performance art caught attention of numerous areas of

To revitalize dying art, Yoshihara performed in several Japanese mass media, such as TV, radio, and magazines. Recently he was featured in New York Times (International) article.

Upon completing his study of Ame-zaiku under the tutelage of Sadaji Ishiwari in 2004, Yoshihara started his professional work as Ame-zaiku artist.  Within just two years, he opened Ame-zaiku Shop/Gallery in Tokyo.  Ame-zaiku is considered a performance art, and it is extremely rare to have a gallery totally dedicated to Ame-zaiku.
